Description
The cording foot is a specialized presser foot for sewing machines that allows for the attachment of thin cords, strings, or elastic threads onto fabric. It has grooves on the front and back where cords can be inserted, holding up to three separate lightweight yarns or cords securely while stitching them to the fabric. Elastic cords can also be attached for waistlines or other applications by placing them into the center groove and using a zigzag stitch (adjusting the width to avoid catching the cord) to gather the fabric. The cording foot can also be used for decorative sewing, transforming plain ribbons into fancy ones by attaching thin cords to the fabric with different stitch widths and lengths. Plus, it eliminates tangling and ensures smooth feeding, making it a useful tool for both practical and decorative sewing projects.
